Our premium hotaru themes all have extra premium features that are different for each theme (and listed on the individual theme page) but the following is a list of features you can expect as standard, and explanations of them.
First and foremost, all of our themes are designed and custom-made for Hotaru CMS from the ground up.
We take great care in creating clean, semantic code with attention to content placement and heading structure to ensure that our themes will create a base for a site with excellent on-site search engine optimisation, to enable you to better rank for terms in your niche.
We believe that validation should be taken as a base tool for excellent, semantic code. To this end, while 99% of our code validates, we do at times make some use of some CSS3 and proposed or browser-specific properties that will cause the W3C CSS2 validator to show errors. This is to be expected and does not mean that the site will break in browsers do not support these properties. For a better explation of our philosophy on validation this excellent article describes our approach rather well.
Given that Hotaru CMS is such a flexible plugin-based CMS, there are many ways in it can be used and extended that we can not neccessarily predict. Our themes provide full support for a typical installation that uses the base code and the social bookmarking pack of plugins. We’ve made the themes flexible so that extra plugins should fit well into the theme, and styling them further should be a simple process. If you have problems styling extra plugins, you can use or contact form to request consultation.
Once you have purchased one of our plugins we will provide updates to the theme for free for any changes in the Hotaru CMS core or bookmarking plugin structure that require changes to the theme.
All of our themes are tested in all major browsers across a range of operating systems to ensure your site looks its best for your users.
We will provide full support to you by email for theme specific issues, issues you have with Hotaru CMS itself or its plugins should still be addressed in the Hotaru forums.
